| There was an interesting piece in the Wall Street Journal recently titled "Amtrak Clugs Deeper Into the Red - Railroad Warns That Rising Ridership Can't Offset Drag on Money-Losing, Long Distance Routes" by Josh Mitchell published on May 18, 2011. Only a government subsidized nightmare can experience near exponential gains in customer usage and lose more money than ever before at the same time. Apparently, the Post Office, Freddie and Fannie, and Amtrak are all in the same sinking boat, and the taxpayer's want the government to abandon that ship. Meanwhile, many Minneapolis residents are still driving around in their "FEMA cars"; school enrollment is at it's lowest point in half a century; crime has reached record levels; hospitals have closed and businesses have relocated.
